How to cook rice cooker in 30 minutes or less

How to make rice cooker without cooking it?

I used to do this every day for years, but now I just do it when I am feeling hungry and can eat the rice without worrying about the time it takes to cook the rice.

For example, I can make rice and beans in 10 minutes, rice and rice with curry, rice noodles with rice and soup, rice with rice, rice pilaf, rice soup and rice noodles.

The time spent in the kitchen is very minimal and I can eat them all within 30 minutes.

The biggest thing you need to understand when cooking rice is the fact that you have to cook it in a water bath.

If you do not have one, you can use a rice cooker or a water cooker.

You can make it even easier by using a rice grinder, but I am not going to tell you how to do that because it is too difficult.

Instead, I am going to give you the simple step by step instructions for making rice at home.


Prepare the rice cooker.

Use a rice mortar or mortarless rice cooker to make the rice in the following steps.


Cook the rice for 10 minutes.

This is the time to cook.

It takes 10 minutes for rice to absorb the moisture in the rice, so if you cook it for 15 minutes, you should be able to get rid of all the water and rice will look soft.


Add some water to the rice water bath (I prefer to use a big pot).

When the rice is boiling, pour the water into the rice pot and set the lid on the rice cooking pot.


Turn the rice into the water bath and add the remaining water.

The rice will get absorbed into the pot, so don’t worry about getting rid of the water as the rice will cook slowly.


Add the spices and add enough salt to taste.


Cover the rice with a lid and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.


If the rice looks like it has absorbed all the moisture, add more water to increase the temperature of the rice and cook it further for 30-45 minutes.


If not, add the water again.


Once the rice has cooked for 15-20 minutes, remove the lid and place the lid back on the pot.

The temperature should be at around 90-95 degrees Celsius (180-220 degrees Fahrenheit) and the rice should be ready.


Put the rice on the stove and stir the rice every 5 minutes.

It will be soft and not mushy, so just wait for a little while and let the rice cook for another 5-10 minutes.

You may notice that the rice turns slightly darker, so it will take a bit longer to get all the rice to a creamy consistency.


Add more water as needed.

It is important that the water does not become too watery.

The cooking time should be less than 30 minutes, but if the water is too waterlogged, it will be too hard to cook for longer.


When the time comes to remove the rice from the waterbath, you will see that the grain will have dried out.

Use your spatula to dislodge it from the rice bowl and discard the rice grains.

Do not put the rice back into the bowl immediately because the rice does not like to come out.


Add your curry paste and cook for 2-3 minutes.


Add salt and freshly ground black pepper and stir for a minute or two.


Add rice noodles and stir to combine.


Add vegetables, beans and a little coconut milk if needed.


Add a few more drops of salt if needed and stir well.

It should be creamy and slightly sweet.


Serve with rice or with coconut milk and enjoy!
