Cook County Illinois has been cooking up some slow cooker recipes.
A Cook County ordinance requires all local establishments that serve alcohol to post signs informing patrons about the prohibition.
The ordinance also states that the owner of a restaurant, bar, or bar is liable for all violations of the ordinance.
“A restaurant, pub, tavern, or club shall not serve alcoholic beverages to any person less than 21 years of age who does not have a valid permit issued by the Cook County Board of Commissioners,” the ordinance reads.
“Any person found in violation of this section shall be fined $500 for the first offense, $2,000 for each subsequent offense, and $10,000 upon conviction.”
Cook County’s ordinance also allows bars and restaurants to serve alcohol in the kitchen only, but only if the bar has a written policy against serving alcohol in their kitchens.
This comes as Chicago is preparing to welcome back some of its oldest and most beloved residents.
The city’s new mayor, Rahm Emanuel, announced plans to open a small but iconic pizza joint and bar in Chicago’s Midway neighborhood on Sunday.
The new restaurant, The Bar, will be located at the corner of South Lincoln Avenue and North Washington Street.
Emanuel’s announcement came a day after Cook County Executive Tom Barrett announced plans for the new restaurant to be built next to his office.
The former mayor was forced to abandon plans to relocate his office to the former Chicago White Sox stadium in downtown Chicago after the construction of the ballpark stalled.

While the new establishment is being named The Bar in honor of Emanuel, it will be open to the public.
Emanuel told Chicago’s WGN radio that he has had a lot of interest from people about joining the eatery.
“I can’t wait to see all of the folks who come and hang out at The Bar.
They’re going to be coming back, and I can’t even begin to imagine how great it’s going to look,” Emanuel told the station.
Earlier this month, Chicago Mayor Raham Emanuel and his wife were spotted cooking up pizza at a restaurant in the North Loop.
The pair are known to love pizza.
In 2013, they opened their own pizza shop on the former site of the former White Sox home park, which they called The Loop.
The Cook County restaurant is scheduled to open in late 2019.
